How to Privatize Your Following

With the current (and accelerating) trends in censorship, it may be time that you privatize your following. Here I discuss the best way to do that, and how your future business may depend on digital independence.

I’m not going to get into the politics of what is currently happening and will continue to happen for the next few years, but I will say this: you need to control your platform.

For many years I would hear people say things like, “Why do I need a website? I can just send people to my facebook page.” Five to ten years ago, that might have made since. Originally, you could get organic traffic through posting, exposing your brand to new people without paying a cent.

Then Facebook decided to make money, and that organic traffic dried up. Now that they’ve started “protecting” information, you can’t even do that a lot of the time depending on your product, service, or even personal opinions on a host of topics.

All of this means that your ability to publish information and find new eyes to view it is being diminished more and more. But don’t fret! There’s still a proven, time-tested method to get traffic and protect your following from people/organizations that may want to silence you.
