The MegaMad Website Design Process
Information and Asset Gathering
You will be given a questionnaire to help us establish the basic information of your project and the design and marketing direction for the website. You will also be given a link to Dropbox to upload all relevant assets for the project (e.g. vector logos, pdfs, images, videos, etc.). You will also be given a login to our website to monitor the project throughout the process.
Once your questionnaire is received, our experts will carry out comprehensive competitor, SEO, and design research. This information will then be used to present you with design options as well as lay a foundation for basic components (like meta focus keywords) on each page of the website itself.
Based on your project objectives and aesthetic desires, we’ll propose a theme, graphic design style, and photo/video style for the website. Once approved, these elements will be used throughout the website to create a consistent and attractive layout throughout each page.
To meet the functional requirements of the project, we’ll propose the plugins we intend to use and provide a demonstration link for each one. Once approved, these elements will be installed on the website and inte-grated into the overall design. During this step we’ll also propose a navigational structure including primary menu, sub-menus, and footer menu for both desktop and mobile platforms.
Once the Design and Functional Proposals are approved, the construction of the new website will begin in ear-nest. All elements will be incorporated and tested with periodic video-updates explaining progress. Questions will be relayed to you as necessary during the build for any major issues. Minor issues will be addressed after the Major Construction phase is complete. This phase also includes the migration of any/all of your current website’s information.
Once all elements of the websites have been incorporated and tested, we’ll meet with you to discuss changes. Ideally you’ll provide us with as many details regarding revision during this meeting so we can give you a nearly-complete website within three weeks.
Following the integration of all Revision phase changes, we’ll present you with a complete project and propose a date for the primary domain name switch. The switch from your current website to your new platform will usually take 12 to 36 hours and is usually begun on a Friday evening to avoid customer service issues with your visitors. After the switch, we’ll test the website to ensure functionality and security. We’ll also provide a list of tutorials to make basic changes yourself (if so desired).
