Youtube: Gear List
What do you need to start shooting your own youtube videos?
Not much! A few pieces of equipment and you’re good to go. The hard part is doing the work consistently. I’ve created thousands online videos and the hardest part is just getting them up in the first place. Get these few pieces of kit and start shooting today!
SUMMARY: Do you need some fancy camera? Probably not! Even if you knew how to use it properly, you probably won’t take the time to offload the footage, edit, and then upload. You’re probably better off just using your phone; you know how to use it and there are free apps for simple editing. Remember, the best tool is the one you actually use 😉
SUMMARY: Just like the tripod, just get it. Propping your phone up on books and against different surfaces is a complete waste of time. This thing is dirt cheap and will make everything easier.
Video Lighting Kit
SUMMARY: This is not a necessity, but it’s pretty cheap and will make your videos look a lot better. That said, you could get by by simply shooting facing a window.
